Note: Email setup may vary slightly depending on the make and model of your Android device. The guide below was created for Android version 8.0.0 on the Samsung Galaxy A5.
Before you start, you need to have your email address and password handy. If you can’t remember these details, you can check and reset them in your LCN account.
You also need to make sure you have SMTP with authentication enabled. You can learn how to do this here.
- Click Apps and find the built-in email app for your Android phone. (Most likely the icon with the @ symbol or the envelope is called Email.)
- Open the app settings and select Add Account. (If this is your first time using the email app, you may already be on the Account Setup page. when opening an application.)
- Select OTHER
- Enter your email address and Enter your password in the fields and click MANUAL SETUP.
Please note: It may be helpful to select Show password. to verify that the password is correct, if you have it as an option.
- The device will now ask you to Select account type. that you want to use. Tap IMAP ACCOUNT. Or, if you want to use POP3. you can find all the necessary settings in our tutorial.
- After this the machine will ask you for your account settings. On this screen you need to enter the following data:
ACCOUNT
- In the Email address field enter your full email address. if it is not already filled in.
- Then in the Username field, enter your full e-mail address
- In the Password field, enter your email password. if it is not already entered.
INCOMING SERVER
- In the IMAP server field enter mail.lcn.com
- The security type must be set to none
- Port must be set to 143
- The IMAP path prefix should be left blank
OUTGOING SERVER
- In the SMTP server field, type mail.lcn.com
- The security type must be set to none
- The port should be set to 25. 26 or 587
- Make sure that authentication is required before sending email is checked
- In the Username field, enter your full email address
- In Password, type your SMTP password
- When finished, click ENTER
- The device will attempt to connect to the servers.If you receive any errors, just select Cancel and double check that your data is correct. If successful, you will return to the Accounts screen.
Note: Depending on your ISP, the default port 25 should allow you to send email. If you find that you are having trouble sending email, the first thing to do is change the port to 26 or 587. To do this:
- Open the Email App and return to Settings.
- Choose your account. Name. And then scroll down to Server Settings.
- Scroll down to the outgoing mail server and change the port to 26 or 587.
