The main parameters of the iPhone 11, Pro and Pro Max models
Next, go through the specifications in more detail to compare the iPhone 11, Pro and Pro Max in a meaningful way. Worth mentioning and deconstructing the differences in design, screen and camera specifications, as well as evaluating the level of performance and battery life in active use.
Narrow frame. wide color palette
All models come in the classic apple smartphone box. On the front of the package is the back of the phones. you can immediately see which iPhone model from the 11 line is inside. The color on the box matches the color of the device. The package of iPhone 11 series models is standard: the phone, 1A charger, wired headphones and a cable for charging or connecting to a PC. Pro and Pro Max models are equipped with an 18-watt adapter, so the devices get 50% of their charge in 30 minutes.
The iPhone 11 models look exactly like the XS lineup. All equipped:
- A glass front panel.
- Metal bezels: wider aluminum on iPhone 11 and narrower stainless steel on the Pro and Pro Max models. The difference in width is 1-1.5 mm.
- Glass cover as the back panel.
The frame of iPhone 11 is more scratch-resistant, while that of iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max is more scratch-resistant.
Colors and sizes
The different appearance is characterized by color variants, size and weight of the models. Greater variety of colors. iPhone 11, soft pastel colors. Pro and Pro Max are presented in more restrained shades. The flagship models have a glossy matte back panel with 3 camera lenses, while the iPhone 11 has a glossy matte clear panel with 2 lenses.
High contrast, clarity and rich tones
The representatives of line 11 iPhones have different displays and diagonal. The base model has an IPS screen, the Pro and Pro Max have a Super Retina XDR OLED display.
The type of screen is the first thing you should pay attention to. There are people for whom it is more comfortable to work with IPS-displays, and OLED-screens make them feel uncomfortable, and vice versa. This is unpredictable and due to each person’s anatomy, and therefore subjective.
The objective differences of the screens include:
- Brightness, contrast, black color. better in OLED-displays.
- White color and reliability. the advantages of IPS.
- Big difference in brightness numbers. up to 800 cd/m² vs. 625 cd/m² and contrast ratio. 2,000,000:1 vs. 1,400:1. There is also a difference in visual perception, but not so significant.
The largest diagonal of the iPhone 11 Pro Max model is 6.5 inches, followed by the base model with a value of 6.1 inches, and the smallest screen diagonal of the iPhone 11 Pro. 5.8 inches. In the case of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, these figures are proportional to the amount of information placed on the screen. The base model and Pro Max have the same amount of content on the display, while the size of the displays is unequal.
Full HD mode is only available on the flagship iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max models.
The screens have good viewing angles without distortion of colors even when the phone is tilted heavily in relation to the view.
space, interesting perspectives and effects in photos
As you can see from the description of the technical specifications of all 3 models, the 12 MP camera is located on a transparent square “island” in the upper left corner of the device. The Pro and ProMax have 3 lenses:
Viewing angle of the smartphone cameras. 120 ° C. Image area is magnified by 4 times.
- Night Mode. Enabled by itself when conditions are set, shutter speed is automatic.
- With technology that delivers ultra-crisp detailed images.
- Portrait mode with background blur effect. The camera no longer has to be held in front of the face. Use mode to take photos of any subject.
- Bright flash. With the function of gradual exposure darkening before use.
- 6 types of portrait lighting.
- Image stabilization: optical in the iPhone 11 model and dual optical in the flagship models.
- Slow-mo. slow motion.
1 day in active mode without recharging
11 lineup models feature lithium-ion battery packs of varying capacities. Battery life depends on usage conditions:
- iPhone 11 preview. up to 17 hours., Pro up to 18h., Pro Max up to 20 hrs.
- Music: iPhone 11. up to 17 h., Pro. up to 18 h., Pro Max up to 20 hours.
- Video streaming: iPhone 11 up to 65 hours., Pro. up to 65 h., Pro Max. up to 80 hrs.
According to the results of test operation all models are able to work in active mode for 1 day.
Smartphones support fast charging when using an 18-watt power adapter. comes with Pro and Pro Max models.
New model. better performance!
The formula Apple confirms from release to release of fresh smartphones. All models in the 11 series feature the A13 Bionic processor and deliver on average the same performance. Test scores are different, but not significantly and unstably. Sling Shot Extreme test (OpenGL ES 3.1 / METAL):
Which iPhone 11 to choose: with 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage?
The iPhone XR was a big success last year, and this year it will be replaced by the new iPhone 11. The smartphone is better across the board: performance, camera, battery consumption. Like last year, iPhone 11 is available with three different amounts of memory. If you don’t know which one to choose, we can help you.
Choosing the right amount of memory is important because you don’t want to waste more money on memory you’ll never use. Also do not save money first and then bite your elbows.
iPhone 11. Capacity and price
This time the price of iPhone 11 is lower compared to last year, which is very good. If last year you decided not to buy the iPhone XR and wait for the next model, you did the right thing.
If you like to store all your music locally on your smartphone or often download movies and apps, it is better not to be petty. The same goes for those who take a lot of photos and videos and then store them right on your device. Then it is better to buy the version with the maximum amount of memory.
And if you listen to music via online services, watch online movies and TV series, and store photos and videos in iCloud, you do not need a lot of memory. However, even those users should be prepared for the fact that someday memory will run out, and you’ll have to delete apps and move everything to copies to free it up.
Who can use the iPhone 11 with 64GB of memory?
The base case with 64GB of memory is enough for most average users. If you are one of them, choose this option. Almost everyone listens to music and watches movies online, so media files will occupy no more than 5-10GB. Even if you take a lot of photos and videos, thanks to the new HEIF and HEVC formats, they will take up half as much memory as before. In addition, iOS 13 has plenty of features to help you free up your device memory.
You can save a few thousand by choosing the 64GB memory option. You can spend that money on a carrying case, AppleCare warranty, and other accessories.
But before buying, think about how long you are planning to use your iPhone 11. If you only have 10GB of free memory left on the first day of purchase, you’re better off with 128GB.
Who can use the iPhone 11 with 128 GB of memory?
If you plan to pass with your iPhone 11 for at least 2-3 years, we recommend getting the 128GB variant. Over time, you will accumulate a lot of files, photos, apps, and videos that will take up precious memory on your device. In addition, over time you will need more and more memory, because the size of applications and games grows.
Fortunately, you won’t have to pay much extra for 128 GB of memory. Most likely to buy this option will be the best value. No need to cut corners. you’ll thank yourself in a year or two.
Who’s compatible with iPhone 11 with 256GB of storage?
If you don’t like to download all your music, movies, and TV shows to watch later on your smartphone without access to the Internet, you won’t need 256GB of storage. Plus, it costs more. Choose this option should only be chosen by those who are sure that so much memory he will need for something.
Free subscription Apple TV
As a gift for every purchased iPhone 11 the company gives a free annual subscription to Apple TV. This is quite a good offer, because it will save you a lot of money. The money saved can be spent on a variant with 128 GB of memory.
How much RAM is in the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, SE 2020, 12 mini, 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max and other models
Apple has traditionally kept quiet about some of the iPhone’s specifications. Neither on the Apple website, nor on the box, nor in the documentation for the device the battery capacity and the amount of RAM of the smartphone are not specified. Information about these characteristics can be obtained with the help of special applications or learn from this article.
The amount of RAM directly affects the performance of the device. The more RAM your smartphone has, the faster applications launch, the less frequent freezes occur, and the more programs can run in the background simultaneously. And although iOS is less hardware-intensive than Android, when you buy a new iPhone, you still want to know how much and what kind of memory is installed in your smartphone.
How to find out the amount of RAM on your own
To do this you need a benchmark or other special software that determines the characteristics of the device, such as AIDA64. We will use the latter. Install the app from the App Store, launch it, and open the “Memory” section. Inside the “RAM information” subsection in the “Total RAM” line will display the amount of installed RAM.
RAM and battery capacity of iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
The day before yesterday, Apple unveiled a line of smartphones iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, but the corporation has not traditionally disclosed data on the battery capacity and RAM volume of new products. The missing specs were revealed by blogger Steve Hemmerstoffer McFly (Steve H.McFly) aka Onleaks.
In his.account, the insider revealed that the iPhone 11 got 4GB of RAM, while the iPhone XR has 3GB. As for the battery, the iPhone 11 comes with a battery capacity of 3110 mAh, which is also more than its predecessor (2942 mAh).
iPhone 11 vs iPhone XR SPEED Test. Reconsider Upgrading
The iPhone 11 Pro shows the biggest increase: the gadget comes with 6 GB of RAM, and its battery capacity has grown to 3,190 mAh. Recall that the iPhone XS uses only 4GB of RAM and a battery of 2658 mAh.
The iPhone 11 Pro Max boasts 6GB of RAM and a 3,500mAh battery, which is also a significant improvement over the iPhone XS Max (4GB RAM and 3,174mAh battery).
During the presentation, Apple announced that the battery life of the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, compared to their predecessors, increased by 1/4/5 hours, respectively.
In addition, Geekbench database appeared the results of the iPhone 11 Pro: the gadget scored 5,472 and 13,769 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
Pre-orders for a series of smartphones iPhone 11 in the U.S. will begin September 13, while on September 18 units will be available for pre-order in Russia. The new items will go on sale on September 20, including in
The iPhone 11 has two 12-megapixel lenses: the main wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle. Both are able to shoot video in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.
Ultra-wide-angle camera allows you to take more space in the frame or find an unusual angle. The telephoto lens found in the iPhone 11 Pro is not here, so don’t believe it if you see something about optical zoom in the specs. By this we mean “zoom out”, that is, shooting with an ultra-wide angle lens. And the fivex boost is achieved programmatically.
Here are some examples of photos taken with the new ultra-wide-angle camera.
Improvements have been made to the main camera. For example, the Smart HDR mode has been improved, allowing you to capture the darkest parts of the frame without overexposing the brightest parts. These are the shots you get when you shoot in auto mode without switching lenses.
The camera doesn’t have to look for the face to shoot portraits. It means that you can take photos of any subjects with bokeh, that was lacking the iPhone XR camera.
The 12-megapixel front camera, as well as in older models, was taught to shoot videos in 4K and 60 FPS. No claims to the selfies quality. the examples are below.
Also the front camera can now shoot slow motion video. Apple calls them sloofies. Below is a slow motion video from our host Irina.
All 2019 iPhones have support for night photography. The camera now understands when there is not enough light in the frame and increases the shutter speed. Everything happens automatically, there are no inappropriate function triggers. The user doesn’t have to interfere with the algorithms and can take night landscapes as usual.
Apple has significantly redesigned the camera interface. Some of the functions are hidden under the arrow at the top of the app, and at the bottom there is a zoom slider that automatically switches lenses when necessary. You can activate simultaneous shooting with both lenses in the settings. Then you can add a portion of the image taken with an ultra-wide angle lens to the frame in “Correct” mode.
Also changed the script for the main button. Long press will automatically start shooting video and you can shoot a series of frames by moving the button to the left without taking your finger off the screen.
Expand iPhone memory
There are phones from other manufacturers, especially older ones, that can expand their storage with microSD cards. This may have its advantages and disadvantages, but the truth is that it means nothing in the iPhone, because it cannot be expanded with MicroSD. It is also not possible to expand the memory manually to replace the component in question, or at least it is not an easy or recommended task, since the device will need to be opened and this will lead to a loss of warranty and may even cause the device to malfunction.
However, there are several ways to expand the space of the device, for example, using cloud storage services. Apple’s own iCloud, as well as other services can be very useful. We’ll cover all of this in a guide that explains how to save space on your iPhone.
How much RAM is in the iPhone 11
Only a week left before the official announcement of the iPhone 11 line of smartphones. Most of the specifications of the three devices have already been named in numerous leaked data, but the full picture has not yet emerged. For example, it’s unclear what Apple is going to call the iPhone XR replacement device. Presumably, the LCD screen will be used here, with the rear camera becoming dual instead of single.
Perhaps the smartphone will be called simply iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 R. Two more expensive devices may be called the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. They will have OLED screens and three rear cameras. The name does not play a big role, unlike the characteristics of the devices. Some of these characteristics managed to discern in the benchmark Geekbench.
Last year’s iPhone XR sacrificed technology and screen resolution, cameras and even build quality to keep the price down. But all three had the same Apple A12 Bionic processor. The chip will probably be the same this year as well.
In a benchmark smartphone labeled iPhone 12.1, the Apple A13 name is not explicitly stated. It’s a 6-core chip with the two most powerful cores clocked up to 2.66 GHz. In last year’s processor their frequency was 2.49 Hz. Presumably, TSMC is producing on a 7nm process, just like last year’s. Improvements in power efficiency should provide extreme ultraviolet lithography.
A benchmark shows 4 GB of RAM vs. 3 GB on the iPhone XR. Apple does not consider this parameter to be important and does not even specify it in the official specifications, but not all users agree with this. Nothing is known about whether the RAM capacity of the two premium smartphones will increase. It is unlikely the memory there will be 6 Gb.
Synthetic benchmarks are far from always reflective of performance in real-world application scenarios. Not even sure if this image is accurate. If so, the test results are not much better than last year’s smartphones. Multi-core performance is almost the same, single-core increased by only 12%. This is far from the most impressive gain.
The past advantage should be enough to keep the edge over the currently best Android chips Snapdragon 855 and 855. And next year, the Snapdragon 865 already has a chance to take the lead. At least until next fall the next iPhones will be released. For six months, the Galaxy S11 and many other Android flagships have a chance to lead in multi-core performance. This year’s Galaxy S10 lags behind last year’s iPhone XS.
At one time we already explained the reason why the iPhone has less RAM than the iPhone. Android, the difference in capacity between the devices lately is very noticeable. To summarize, iOS, the iPhone’s operating system, requires fewer resources to run, so Apple can afford to install less memory on its devices and still ensure it runs properly without slowing down or crashing apps if many of them open simultaneously. This is the reason why Apple does not give official information about it.
On an image level, it is very bad to see that the latest generation iPhone has less RAM than its Android competitor, and while this has its explanation in what we discussed above, perhaps many not very knowledgeable users tend to believe that they will have problems with your device for this reason. But then how do you know how much RAM the iPhone has? Well, thanks for taking this equipment apart and being able to check what parts are inside. The user may not be able to measure this with the naked eye, but professionals can. There are also tools that check the performance of phones and can provide RAM data.
Other tasks will dramatically expand the requirements
I take a lot of pictures. It was easier to buy 2TB than to take it all apart We got that 59GB is strictly enough for basic needs, and that number fits tightly with the base iPhone models.
Next, there may be several scenarios in which you need more space.
Photos and video will ask for a significant chunk of memory from several categories of users.
If one leads an active social media life, has to shoot a lot for work, or just likes to document life, their gallery risks weighing up to hundreds of gigabytes.
Here is a personal example: in eight years I have shot 74,000 pieces of media that only an iPhone 11 Pro on maxi can hold. In my case, the 2TB iCloud was the best solution to conveniently back them up.
Add processing and editing software to the files themselves. Many take up about 200 MB, like Adobe Lightroom or LumaFusion. But that’s not all: many times more will be spent on media copied to the workspace.
Active camera users need to add 30GB to 300GB.
Movies and TV shows take up significantly more space than games. The same goes for anyone who saves videos to YouTube Premium or heavy stuff in
To save “for later” it is desirable to have at least 30 GB to spare.
Music and audiobooks with podcasts are not as demanding as videos. Most are subscribed to streaming, there is VK music, so the days of 5,000 songs in my are over.
To keep the tracks you want on the go, many people need only 8GB.
Work with sound is worth considering in isolation. Garage Band alone takes up 1.6 GB, and Simply Piano for learning to play the keys loads video tutorials and asks for about 8 GB.
It’s best to leave 10GB to create music and master it.
Specialized apps on work smartphones probably won’t have to share space with the tasks described above. Basic iPhones will do just fine.
