Once DLNA is enabled, open your TV’s menu to view the contents of connected devices. On the Sony Bravia, you can go to the Home button and then select the section. Movies, Music or Pictures and watch the relevant content from your computer (Sony also has a program called Homestream, which simplifies everything I wrote). On LG televisions. Additionally, when DLNA connection is active, by right-clicking on the video file in Explorer (we do it on the computer) you can select “Play to TV_name” in the menu. Selecting this item will start wireless video streaming from the computer to the TV.
Note: even if your TV supports MKV movies, these files do not work “Play to” in Windows 7 and 8, and they are not displayed in the TV menu. The solution, which works in most cases, is simply to rename these files to AVI on your computer.

Do I need to configure DLNA on Windows 10
If you have a 10, this is easiest for you. You can use the DLNA feature (send videos from your PC to your TV display) without setting up the server. The only condition, we’ve mentioned above, is that TV and PC must be in the same local network of the router.
The picture will still be transmitted even if you use the public network (network discovery is turned off), and you have disabled File Access on your PC.
What you have to do? Just right click the video you want to play on TV, point the arrow to “Send to device” and select your TV-device (it has to be turned on and connected to “Wi-Fi” network).
After a while the file will run on the TV, and in “Windows” you will see the “Bring to device model name TV” window.

Setting up DLNA on your router
If you have a router with a USB port, you can connect a USB flash drive with movies, videos, images and other files. To implement a wireless display, you will need to download drivers for it (it is better to look for them on the official Intel website). And the TV itself must support WiDi. If not, you buy an adapter.
- Press “Menu” on the remote control.
- Select the “Network” section.
- Activate “Miracast/Intel’s WiDi.

Setting up the sound transmission from the laptop to the TV
As we know, HDMI is also capable of transmitting sound. But this does not always happen in practice. In order to switch the sound, you need to refer to the sound settings in your operating system. To do this, simply right-click on the speaker icon in your system tray and select “Playback Devices.

What should you do if your notebook does not connect to the TV through HDMI?

Laptop does not see the HDMI cable from the TV set
This situation can arise in only two cases: physical malfunction of the cable or connector, and a problem with the video card drivers.
