Alternatively, you can enter the IP address of your Netgear router in the URL bar of your browser.

The IP address is. is a four-digit number with dots between each number, and you can think of it as a numeric address that shows where your router is on your local network. Usually it will be something like where the last two numbers (xxx) can be slightly different.

This IP address might be written down somewhere in your router‘s instruction booklet, but if not, you can find it out quite easily from your computer.

On Windows 10, go to the search box (next to the “Start” button), type ” C ” and sentences beginning with the letter “C” will appear above: click “Command Prompt”. (In earlier versions of Windows, click Start, click in the search box. Or on the magnifying glass icon. type cmd. then click Command Prompt).
