Xiaomi Mi Wi-Fi Amplifier PRO 300m: review and adjustment of the amplifier WI-FI
Hello all! Today in our review came the repeater, amplifier and just a good guy Xiaomi Mi Wi-Fi Amplifier PRO. Oh, and love the Chinese, or rather the company Xiaomi put at the end of this pathos prefix “PRO”. Today we will see if this repeater is so “PRO” or not. Let’s start at the beginning and unpack.
If we talk about the design, it looks nice, but that’s not what interests us. The first thing that catches your eye is the non-European outlet. I do not know, most likely the model was still primarily made for the Chinese market. In the box comes with an adapter, but this is some kind of crutch. Of course, you can separately convert to such an outlet, but in my opinion it is a hassle.
I do not like to use adapters, especially for permanent connection. Most often they loosen and the plug can barely sit in the socket. If it’s no secret to write for how much you bought it, below in the Комментарии и мнения владельцев.
Installation and setup
And so the first thing to do is to install the device correctly. The problem is that it depends on the socket to which you want to connect the transmitter. So you might need to move or relocate the router a bit. The task is such that on the path of the wave between the router and the repeater was as few obstacles as possible. Dead zones could include walls with rebar or any other metal obstacles, as well as mirrors.
To configure it, you will need to download and install the Mi Home. It can be easily downloaded from Google Play or App Store. You can simply scan the QR code that is on the box. At the first launch, the language should already be in Russian, but you can change it in the “Settings” see the approximate location in the picture below. It is also necessary to set the region as “Mother China”. I don’t know why, but you won’t be able to connect to the router without it.
Now you have to plug the repeater into a socket and restart the application. Then it will see the new device, just select it. Next, enter the name of the router’s main network and its password.
After that you should get to the menu, but there is nothing special there. There is a possibility to set up a second guest network. You will also be asked to update the firmware. If after that the language is reset to Chinese, you can change it in the settings.
A small overview and configuration of the Mi 4 in the following

One of the main pluses of the device is the simplicity of connection. For this purpose there is a special application MiRouter, which is available for Android and iOS. This app allows you to manage all the settings with your smartphone at maximum speed.
- Connect the cable from the provider to the WAN connector;
- Connect the power supply to the router (plug it into the socket);
- turn on the Wi-Fi on the smartphone;
- launch the installed MiRouter application;
After performing these steps, Xiaomi Router 4 will check the connection to the Internet. Then an intermediate page may open, where it will be necessary to enter some data, which must be provided by the Internet service provider.
Next you need to set the names for the networks and the password to connect to them. All you need to do is to press the “Finish” button. The router will restart and the smartphone will connect to the network.
Xiaomi Pro WI-FI Amplifier. “Senior” amplifier. Upgrade.
Hi all! than once wrote about repeaters-whistles from Xiaomi, but this device for some reason overlooked in spite of a relatively reasonable price tag and normal appearance. I will try to fill this gap today. I chose this model because of the opportunity to connect the directional antenna, which will greatly expand the coverage of the home network with a minimum of “crutches. But about that some other time, in this review I will only show how to unplug the sabþ from the socket, which is also pretty useful. The post is a half-DYY, there are relatively many pictures and gifs under the curtain.
I do not remember why I did not use a coupon or points, maybe there was a promo. But now there are discounts for VIPs, for example VIP3 have to pay only 16.99

Xiaomi Mi Wi-Fi Amplifier Pro. Waffle in the bathroom and toilet!
Good day to you all! Today I want to talk about a fairly popular Wi-Fi signal amplifier Xiaomi Mi Wi-Fi Amplifier Pro, which has its own plug-in in the smart home app Mi Home. Also, On the Telegram channel TechnoReview interesting technical devices, new products from Xiaomi and discounts appear even faster, so subscribe to be the first to know about everything. Let’s go.
Xiaomi Mi Wi-Fi Amplifier Pro
Let me start by saying that I nicknamed this amplifier a toilet, because I purchased it partly to get the Wi-Fi signal into the room, as the router is in my room and directly through the RJ 45 cable is connected to the computer. Also my Wi-Fi signal was not enough to provide a full-fledged connection of smart doorbell Xiaomi Ai with my smartphone to watch video from the staircase through it. By the way the bell is still there and it has not been tampered with. A full video review on it you can watch on my YouTube channel.
The device comes in a small white box with the Mi logo and a picture of the amplifier itself. On the back there are brief specs, a QR code leading to a download of the Mi Home app and a schematic representation of how the device works. The sides of the box are marked with the “Mi” logo
In the box is the device itself and that’s it. In my case the instruction manual is lost somewhere in the box despite the seal on the box, although it is possible that it was not put in at all. Also in some cases for an additional fee the seller will throw in a small adapter for the European plug.
The amplifier has two antennas whose direction can be changed. On the front of the device is a logo Mi. The plastic from which the amplifier is made is of sufficient quality and does not collect much dust on itself. Under the logo there is a small operating indicator. Orange signal means that the amplifier is searching for the net. Blue signal means that the network is found and the device is amplifying it.
On the backside is a Chinese plug for connecting the amplifier to the 220 volt mains. On the contour of the case are holes for passive cooling board. There is a recessed button on the bottom side edge to reset the unit.
The amplifier is connected using the Mi Home app, where the amplifier forms its own plug-in, inside which you can check the operation of the device. Otherwise everything will happen automatically and the Wi-Fi will switch to the amplifier if your router’s network is not enough, but if the signal is stable enough you’ll have to go to the settings and switch to the network with the name of your network and the prefix “Plus”
So, the results in the bathroom and toilet behind closed doors: Stably three sticks. The router is behind some walls in the room, and the amplifier in the hallway. Below you can see the speed measurements via Speed Test without amplifier and with it. The result is not the best, but in general a speed increase of 6-7 times is quite encouraging. Much also depends on the location of the amplifier in relation to the router.
As a result, an amplifier for even a medium-sized apartment with a lot of smart home devices very useful thing. If necessary, you can buy several such amplifiers and install them at intermediate points between the rooms.
